다양한 이름 만큼이나 많이 잡혔던 명태는 풍요와 다산의 상징으로 여겨졌습니다.
복을 기원하며 일이 술술 잘 풀리기를 기원하는 마음으로 귀한 명주실을 명태에 감아
대문에 매달았던 우리 고유의 풍습은 오래도록 전해져 내려오고 있습니다.

‘Good Luck Fish’는 명태와 명주실을 3D 프로그램을 통해 디자인한 '디지털 조각작품'입니다.
선조들의 해학적 의미를 담아 현대적으로 풀어낸 작품으로 명태와 명주실이 하나의 머티리얼로 표현된 모습은
의미를 알지 못하는 현대인들이나 외국인들에겐 낯설면서 동시에 신선함을 줍니다.
모던한 컬러와 축소된 사이즈, 마그네틱 부착기능을 더해 실용적인 상품으로 활용도를 높혔습니다.
집들이, 개업식, 합격 기원, 무사고 기원 등 복을 기원하는 마음을 전할 수 있는 우리 문화가 담긴 상품입니다.

‘Myeong Tae’ has both many names and many uses. This project borrows from that lineage.
It is a symbol of luck and good fortune. With this attitude we borrow the motif of the hanging
Myeong Tae and to carry that heritage forward.

‘Good Luck Fish’ is a 3D designed and printed Myeong Tae. It contains the humorous meaning of
our ancestors and form of the hanging Myeong Tae decoration. We have interpreted this symbol in
a contemporary way through modern tools and techniques.
Using a new finish and smaller size, a magnet has been placed so the hanging Myeong Tae
symbol can be applied anywhere.
This product can be presented at house warming, opening ceremonies, entrance exam wishes,
and other well wishing scenarios to convey the heart of the giver.
